Getting a Library Card |
| Tiverton Library Services belongs to the statewide Cooperating Libraries Automated Network (CLAN). When you |
| get a CLAN library card, you can use it in over 50 public libraries throughout the state of Rhode Island. You may |
| borrow items from any CLAN public library by either visiting that library yourself, or by having your local library |
| obtain the materials for you. You may return materials borrowed from a CLAN library at and other CLAN library. |
| The card is free of charge to Rhode Island residents, with the exception of Exeter residents, who can get a CLAN |
| card for annual fee of $25.00. |
| CLAN cards are available to Rhode Island residents free of charge. Proof of identity and current address is |
| required. Valid types of identification include, but aren't restricted to, such items as: |
| Driver's License | |
| Car Registration | |
| Rental leases or receipts | |
| Welfare cards | |
| College ID | |
| Utility bill or receipt |
| Children under 16 may use their parent/guardian listing in the phone book as verfication of address and telephone number. |
| Once you have filled out an application and shown identification, you will receive a CLAN card. The card can then |
| be used to check out library materials. You must have your library card with you to borrow materials. Replacement |
| of a lost card is $1.00 fee. Old and worn out cards are replaced for free. You are responsible for all items checked |
| out on your card. |
