The Tiverton Library Foundation is a 501(c) (3) not for profit organization whose mission is to secure funds to help support the operational and capital needs of the Tiverton Public Library.
The Foundation has spearheaded the campaign to fund construction of the new Tiverton Public Library. To date, over 95% of the cost has been raised or committed.
Leadership support has been provided by grants from The Champlin Foundations, van Beuren Charitable Foundation, BayCoast Bank, and the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. Major grants were also received from Rhode Island Foundation, Central Baptist Church, John Clarke Trust, Amica Companies Foundation, Bank Five, Newport County Fund, Bank Newport, and Tiverton Power/Capital Power.
The townspeople have provided essential support by passing the referendum for the $7M Town bond (of which about $4M will be provided by the RI Office of Library & Information Services Library Reimbursement Program). So far, over 30 individuals have made major pledges, and additionally more than 100 people have donated funds to the project.
The Foundation invites everyone to become part of the new Library by closing the gap with a pledge or donation, and by supporting the wide variety of fundraising events organized by people and groups in the community.
