Award Honors Tiverton Library Volunteers
The Friend's of Tiverton Libraries third annual President's Awards for Outstanding Volunteer Service to the Library were presented to several local individuals.
Honored for their efforts were :
-Heather Jamieson, currently a student at the University of Rhode Island, for her efforts as a founding member of the Library's Essex Teen Council, and who also participated in fundraising efforts to benefit library service,
-Kay Hughes, retiring Vice-President of the Friends, who was one of the founding members of the Friends, and has continued to provide active support for over 2 decades,
-and staff member, Sheila West, who has continued to maintain the gardens at the entrance to the Essex Library in her off-hours.
The purpose of the Friends is to expand and promote library services to the community in cooperation with the Library.
The Friends appreciate the efforts of all the membership, and encourage those interested in its activities to join.
